I've been having a lovely time settling in to my new workroom, it's been a joy. I feel so much more organised than before and I was already pretty organised! It feels so much bigger than before and I thought I might feel really isolated up in the loft space but I'm okay with it. I recently bought a job lot of sample books from Casamance and Camengo, from EA Wates which was a local soft furnishers, upholsterers and furniture repairers, that has just closed down after 120 years. It's sad news, all that heritage and expertise fallen by the wayside, it's heart-breaking. The books have gone to a good home though and I had the pleasure of offering them up to a client yesterday who was keen on several of the fabrics, so that bodes well. Lots of roman blinds have been made recently and a pair of curtains for a client who was so happy, I'm now making her bedroom curtains and blinds. I'm also about to supply and make sixteen outdoor cushion covers for garden furniture. I wish the weather would hear that and crack on, it's like Winter out there!
